The objective is to analyse the importance of constitutional law in legal education and assess the need to implement constitutional practices in the academic curriculum. A mixed approach with a non-experimental design and descriptive scope was used, applying surveys to 41 fifth- and sixth-semester law students, complemented by documentary analysis and an exegetical-legal method. Fifty-one per cent of students acknowledge having average knowledge of the Constitution but difficulties in applying it in practice. Eighty-eight per cent consider it essential to include constitutional practice in the curriculum, preferring methodologies based on real cases (71%) and development over multiple semesters (71% suggest three levels). The incorporation of practical modules on constitutional law is essential to train competent professionals capable of applying constitutional principles effectively, strengthening democracy and guaranteeing the exercise of citizens' rights.
