The analysis of the rights of children and adolescents in Ecuador has acquired growing relevance in the legal sphere. The objective of the research is to analyse children in situations of abandonment and the impact on their integral development from a legal documentary context: Riobamba - Ecuador. The research was based on the compilation, review and critical analysis of secondary sources consisting of 13 scientific articles. The comparative analysis of the selected studies shows that, although Ecuador has made progress in the implementation of policies and regulations for the protection of the rights of children and adolescents, there are still important gaps in the effective application of these provisions. From a legal perspective, it is essential to continue developing mechanisms to strengthen access to justice for these vulnerable groups and to ensure that the principle of the best interests of the child is upheld.
