Influence of artificial intelligence on judicial decision making [Influencia de la inteligencia artificial en la toma de decisiones judiciales]

The present analysis aims to explore the influence of artificial intelligence on judicial decision-making. The research was based on a review of 14 scientific articles, selected on the basis of their relevance to the analysis of AI within the judicial system. The implementation of artificial intelligence in judicial decision-making presents both significant opportunities and risks for contemporary legal systems. While AI has the potential to optimise judicial processes, reduce time and improve efficiency, it is essential that its use is strictly regulated to avoid the dehumanisation of justice and the perpetuation of biases in algorithms. Subjectivity and judicial discretion cannot be replaced by a machine, and the protection of fundamental rights, such as privacy and fairness, must remain an essential pillar in any automated process.
