La andropausia en la salud pública. Revisión sistemática [Combined hormonal contraceptives as a method of family planning in adolescents]

Objetivo: analizar la andropausia en la salud pública desde una revisión sistemática. Método: Revisión sistemática de 16 articulos. Resultados y conclusión: Los resultados revelan una prevalencia del 30-40% en varones mayores de 60 años, con manifestaciones físicas, psicológicas y sexuales que afectan sustancialmente la calidad de vida. Se identifican barreras diagnósticas significativas, incluyendo heterogeneidad sintomática, ausencia de criterios universales y estigmatización sociocultural. Las intervenciones efectivas comprenden modificaciones del estilo de vida, programas educativos específicos y terapias hormonales selectivas. El concepto emergente de "couplepause" ofrece una perspectiva relacional innovadora. Se concluye que la andropausia constituye un desafío sanitario creciente que requiere mayor visibilización, investigación específica y desarrollo de programas asistenciales adaptados a las necesidades particulares de la población masculina envejeciente.
