Objetivo: analizar las implicaciones de la enfermería en el cuidado ocular. Método: Revisión sistemática de 15 artículos científicos. Resultados y conclusión: Resulta imperativo incorporar competencias oftalmológicas básicas en los currículos de enfermería y promover la investigación en este campo. El fortalecimiento de las competencias enfermeras en salud ocular no solo mejorará la calidad asistencial, sino que también contribuirá significativamente a la prevención de complicaciones y a la promoción de la salud visual en la población general.
