Objective: to analyse the implications of nursing in eye care. Method: Systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and conclusion: It is imperative to incorporate basic ophthalmological skills into nursing curricula and to promote research in this field. Strengthening nursing skills in eye health will not only improve the quality of care, but will also contribute significantly to the prevention of complications and the promotion of visual health in the general population.
