Nursing protocol for the prevention of pressure ulcers [Protocolo de enfermería para la prevención de úlceras por presión]

Objective: to design a nursing protocol for the prevention of pressure ulcers based on a literature review. Methodology: systematic review of 30 scientific documents. Results: This type of ulcerative lesion is a common public health problem. The best way to treat pressure ulcers and their various complications is prevention, as once they develop they can be difficult to treat and can quickly become complicated. Conclusion: This literature review proposes strategies to prevent pressure ulcers, which are a major challenge in healthcare, especially in immobilised patients or those with reduced mobility. It also accurately determines the classification of pressure ulcers and their appropriate treatment.
