Efectos de la nutrición en la salud oral. Revisión sistemática [Effects of nutrition on oral health. Systematic review]

Objetivo: analizar los efectos de la nutrición en la salud oral. Método: revisión sistemática en población de 15 articulos científicos. Resultados y Conclusión: Los resultados destacan que el consumo excesivo de carbohidratos fermentables y alimentos ultraprocesados constituye un factor etiológico significativo en la aparición de enfermedades bucales, mientras que las deficiencias nutricionales afectan negativamente la calidad del esmalte y los tejidos periodontales. Asimismo, se identificó la necesidad de implementar estrategias preventivas y educativas basadas en evidencia científica, dirigidas a poblaciones vulnerables, como niños, adultos mayores y personas con enfermedades crónicas, para promover una dieta equilibrada y hábitos de higiene bucal adecuados.
