Abstract

Objectives: To determine the importance of magnification use in root canal system treatment through literature review. Method: A descriptive and analytical review of 25 scientific articles from the last 5 years was conducted, consulting Dialnet, Scielo, PubMed databases and postgraduate theses, applying specific inclusion criteria on magnification in endodontics. Results: Magnification demonstrates significant benefits in diagnosis, location of accessory canals like MB2, detection of microfractures, removal of fractured instruments, and improvement of operator ergonomics. Devices include operating microscopes, endoscopes, and surgical loupes with magnifications of 2.5× to 4.5×. Conclusions: Incorporating magnification in endodontics is essential to improve diagnostic and therapeutic precision and professional ergonomics, contributing to long-term treatment success.
