The objective of this research is to analyse the influence of artificial intelligence on the learning of English as a second language in Ecuadorian students. Through a systematic review of scientific literature published between 2021 and 2025, three main categories were identified: technological tools and teaching methodologies, communicative skills and academic performance, and challenges and opportunities for implementation. The results demonstrate that AI generates quantifiable improvements of 32-48% in fundamental language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing), increases intrinsic motivation by 43%, and improves psychological well-being by 52% for students with special needs. AI tools enable automatic personalisation according to individual learning styles, improving student retention by 58%. However, successful implementation requires specialised teacher training, adequate technological infrastructure, and competent educational leadership. AI represents a transformative opportunity to democratise quality English language education in Ecuador.
