Abstract

The protection of the rights of children and adolescents is a priority issue in Ecuador, given that this population faces multiple challenges that affect their comprehensive development. The objective of this research is to analyze the protection of the rights of children and adolescents in Ecuador. We worked methodologically based on a documentary analysis, 16 studies published between 2019 and 2024 were selected. Protecting the rights of children and adolescents in Ecuador continues to be an urgent challenge that demands a real commitment from society as a whole. Situations such as child abuse, abandonment and begging reflect the difficult conditions that many children face, depriving them of a dignified and safe life. It is necessary to guarantee their right to identity and prioritize their welfare in all decisions involving them is not only a legal duty, but also an act of humanity.
